Putting some ladies to work… again!

As you may know, some of our ladies had been favorited by our roosters and to combat this we removed them from the chicken run. We initially used them in our front yard to revitalize our land. Now we are using them to till and fertilize our raised beds. They have already fertilized our raised bed that housed our potatoes and now they are working on our north west facing beds. These beds have been the least fruitful almost to the point of failure, but next year we will try again!

As for the bed that was just fertilized, we will water it to help speed up the breakdown of the chicken poo in order to get the bed ready for some winter crops. Hopefully we will be able to grow some tasty leafy greens in abundance there this winter!
