Arrendale Castle for the Guineas

We were getting a little time pressed trying to figure out a housing situation for our four guineas. With all the other things going on around the homestead the idea of building something just seemed to be pushed to the bottom of the list time and again.

Our kiddos happen to have a play structure that they rarely, if ever, played in and made it more of a climbing structure than an actual house. Enters our low budget quick fix to a back burner task!

We grabbed our remaining chicken wire from the chicken tractor build and two scrap pieces of wood. And there you have it, the first version of our homestead guinea coop with roosts. Since it is so light, we will be able to make the coop mobile since we haven’t figured out the deep bedding situation or final location of it. After two weeks of being kept “in house” we will start the slow training process that is required to ensure they come home every night.

Fingers crossed, they are fast learners and choose to eat our ticks and other bugs instead of our neighbors.
