Homesteaders of America conference

A couple of weeks ago we were able to go to the homesteaders of America conference. We had no idea how crowded it would be there. We waited for over an hour just to get through the gates on the first day, and we got there late! I can only imagine what it must have been like at 8:00AM. There were 5000 people meandering through the fairgrounds, all gleaning information and buying stuff from the vendors. They had live demonstrations of how to milk a goat which our eldest found interesting. And they had alpacas, bunnies, little baby chicks, and some adorable kune kune pigs. We were able to talk with many likeminded individuals and were encouraged to carry on and potentially expand our homestead (maybe one day). We were able to meet the Rhodes family and even got to take a picture with Justin and Rebecca (and Henry). Unfortunately, we were unable to make it to any talks because they were all super jam packed and we have three littles in tow who cannot, for the life of them, sit still and be quiet. Overall, it was a fun experience.
