Sick for the holidays
Given the tumultuous times, any sign of illness tends to make you feel like a pariah. Three babes with coughs and runny noses is never an enjoyable experience. Couple that with glares of disapproval and lack of desire to have play dates makes battling the ick even more challenging. Never mind the poor attempts at homeschooling while your babes are sick. Homestead chores still need to be done amid the breathing treatments, nose blowing, coughing, nasal spray, and lozenges. Add in some new pigs with a complicated diet and some holiday cheer and you have a perfect storm for a rough time of it.
Thankfully, we can carry on and are grateful for our big family full of shouting, laughter, and joy amidst the nonsense. We are thankful for our health (in general), our babies, our chickens (live and in the freezer), our piggies, our wood stove, delivery services, and an abundance of food. We are also thankful for the love we have shared with each other and with others over this past year and are grateful for a good harvest. We pray for a new year to bring an abundance of joy.
Happy Thanksgiving Friends!
