We got pigs
Everything seems to be either slow and steady or lightning fast speed on our homestead. We went to the HOA conference at the beginning of October and contemplated getting some Kune Kunes. We visited Hill Top Farm near our house to learn more about Kune Kunes at the beginning of November. Now, here we are in the middle of November bringing home our very own pair of feeder Kune Kunes!
This past week has been a whirlwind of trying to get the homestead ready for our two little barrow piglets. They needed food bowls, some sort of watering system, a mobile house, mobile netting, feed, and bedding. We tried to source as much locally and then got the other items from our local farm store.
After a stinky van ride, they made it to their new home! And they have been happy and eating ever since! We have always told our kids that animals that are meant for food can be named, but they have to be named after food. So we have named our pigs Hamlet
