Another successful batch of broilers

Our cull date was pushed back by one week with our most recent batch of meat birds because our family fell ill a couple of weeks prior and we just were not recovered enough to handle the day’s events.

We did things a little differently this time around. Instead of us doing everything by ourselves, we decided to invite interested friends to join us. We gave some instruction on how to process chickens, which was admittedly met with apprehension, but in the end, everyone felt confident and accomplished. As a celebration of all our hard work we roasted two of the freshly processed birds and had a farm salad to go with it! This was a wonderful culling day and I hope we can have many more like this!
