And so it begins
When we first started our garden in the raised beds everything felt like it took forever to grow two inches in height. Now that we have passed the longest day of the year, we are started to see a more rapid growth of our plants. Thanks to the perfect mixture of sunshine, heat, and thunderstorms, we have eaten our first bunch of radishes. Our tomato plants are starting to show some green baby tomatoes , and our squash and zucchini have taken off!
In the next couple of weeks we should be seeing more eggs out of our ladies. The littles are coming into their own and have started laying their small and oddly shaped eggs. We also think that our Guineas are also getting to be more mature because we saw a rogue guinea egg just hanging out by our watermelon plants. The guineas also have been tasting our watermelons… so we have lost a few of them unfortunately.
We are also looking to expand our gardening efforts. Klint has started laying our a temporary enclosed garden space next to our driveway and parking lot. Hopefully it will be up in running in the next few weeks. We will probably try and plant some more broccoli and cabbage when the time comes.
